Dr. Cynthia Gregg

Dr. Cynthia Gregg, Facial Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Cynthia Gregg received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She obtained her medical degree from the University of North Carolina, after receiving four prestigious awards for academic achievement. She completed a five-year residency at the University of Michigan for Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, and during her tenure there she earned the prestigious Merle Lawrence Research award. She then completed a fellowship at the Center for Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Gregg served as an assistant professor of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Duke University Medical Center prior to starting her private practice in Cary, North Carolina.

Dr. Gregg is well known for her expertise and compassion. She is featured in the local Health & Healing magazine and provides pro bono surgeries for survivors of domestic violence in the national Face–to -Face Program. Her participation in this program was featured in a documentary aired on the BBC and nationally on Oprah.

Dr. Gregg served for six years as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She also co-chairs the oral exam committee which is responsible for preparing and editing the oral items for the Board Examination in Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Gregg is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery and served on the Academy’s Ethics committee.

Dr Cynthia Gregg received an award for achieving the highest combined score on the ABFPRS MOC examination that was given June, 2014 in Washington, D.C. The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has been administering the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) examination since 2007.  Physicians are required to take this exam every 10 years after their first board exam.  Dr Gregg volunteered to take this exam even though she holds a lifetime board certificate.

Dr Gregg was recently recognized by Cary Magazine as one of the Women of Wake County for 2014.



Dr. Josh Surowitz, Facial Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Surowitz received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was bestowed the prestigious Heusner Pupil award. Dr. Surowitz completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded the William Shockley Silver Owl award for excellence in teaching. He then completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Surowitz’ clinical interests include aesthetic surgery of the aging face, neck and eyes, including facelift, brow lift, rhinoplasty, septoplasty, facial fat transfer, facial liposuction, and reconstruction of Mohs surgery and skin cancer defects. In addition to facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Surowitz is an expert in hair restoration, offering the latest techniques and treatment advancements to his patients.

Dr. Surowitz lives in Raleigh with his wife and son. In his free time, Dr. Surowitz enjoys spending time with his family, reading, fishing and being outdoors.
